Jon Halperin is an animation and documentary director, producer, and writer who has told science stories, horror stories, adventure stories, and history stories - occasionally all at the same time. 

His work has played on Netflix, Amazon, PBS, Discovery, National Geographic, History, in various corners of the internet, and at festivals around the world. He has won three Emmys. He was a showrunner for the Netflix global hit Unknown, a series of four feature-length science documentaries. He was the Executive Producer of four seasons of Explorer. 

His animated film, A Trip to Infinity, co-produced with MakeMake for Netflix, won an Emmy for its animation and was nominated for a Grierson Award for Best Science Film. One four-minute scene from the film about how an infinitely rotting apple explains the universe has been viewed over 90 million times on TikTok. 

Jon is currently writing an animated feature film and producing the PBS series Breaking the Deadlock. He co-owns Room 608, a New York–based production company, and sits on the board of the Documentary Producers Alliance.
