Bart Weiss taught film/video at UT Arlington, is the founder/director of Dallas VideoFest, and produces “Frame of Mind” on KERA, and co-hosts the Fog of Truth and Frankly Festivals Podcasts.

His book “Smartphone Cinema: Making Great Films with Mobile Phones” was published by Focal Press in 2025 

He has been a video columnist for The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Times Herald, and United Features Syndicate.

Bart received an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University.

He was a tenured professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he taught film and video for 30 years.
