Raw Science Film Festival is an annual event that brings together people across science, technology, entertainment and media to showcase best in class film and media from around the globe.
The mission of RSFF is to humanize science and bring fact-based experts to the forefront of popular culture by celebrating the best science storytelling in the world.
Any subject in science. Physics, medicine, ecology, engineering, computing, archaeology, space — if it advances how people understand the world, it belongs here.
Any form. Shorts and features, documentary, dramatic and animation, series, new media, infographics, visual effects, stunt work and public art.
Any filmmaker. Professional, student, amateur and youth entries from anywhere in the world.
Into classrooms. We help filmmakers translate their work into educational curricula — from K–12 through undergraduate, graduate and medical school.
Into distribution. We connect filmmakers with distributors and platforms actively looking for science storytelling.
Attend screenings, engage in Q&As with filmmakers and scientists, and participate in panels that move ideas into action.
Raw Science Film Festival connects curious audiences with the people and research shaping our world.
Alongside the Raw Frontier, Breakthrough, Resonance, Radiance and Poetry of Science awards — and jury categories across documentary, dramatic and animation at professional, student, amateur and youth levels.
Named by FestForums, a consortium of industry leaders, event producers and artists whose board includes the co-founder of Woodstock, the president of Live Nation, the director of Glastonbury Festival, the founder of Sundance Productions and Billboard’s editor at large.

The Raw Science Film Festival 2026 is a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) Manhattan Arts Grant recipient. Funding is provided by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA).
